One day, a girl posts a picture of a dress on her tumblr - simply confused - because her and her friends couldn't agree on what color it was. If I were her, I would just assume my friends were messing with me. However, it turns out these girls were being serious. The picture of the dress spread quickly, and literally started a WAR. Blue and black VS white and gold. Some people were able to see both! how is that even possible?
Personally, I saw it as white and gold, and it bothered me to find out that the dress was actually blue and black. Either way, it all comes down to science. The reason why people like me were able to see it as white and gold, is because of how our brains perceive images differently. Its not about how we saw it, but more about how our brains processed it. As Professor Matthew A. Smith said, in the photo, the dress took up most of the space, and there weren't many other details visible to help the brain see exactly how it was. That is when our brain starts guessing and filling in information that isn't there. As the article said, the people who didn't pay much attention to the blue background light, saw the dress as white and gold. If you had paid no attention to the bright yellow light coming in from the back, then you would have seen it as black and blue. This also shows how it was possible for people to see it both ways at different times.
I actually found this whole debate thing interesting, because it showed us what amazing things our brains can do.

Blueming (see what I did there) explanation about this discussion. I really liked the way how you analyzed the whole ordeal. By the way the dress is BLACK AND BLUE!
