Before I started learning about motion I knew very little about motion. For example I had a very general and not scientific definition of motion which was an object is in motion if it moves from one point to another. I also had know idea of definitions such as instantaneous speed or average speed. I also did not know much about the tectonic plates. I did not know the names of the plates that are found on our Earth. I had know idea about acceleration or how to calculate acceleration of a object. After learning about motion I knew that motion is when an object moves in any way from its reference point. I knew that a reference point was a object that was used as a reference to measure the motion of a object. I learned what instantaneous speed was (the speed of an object at a specific point of time.) what average speed was (the speed of a object throughout its whole journey.) I learned all bout the tectonic plates. I found out that acceleration is the change of an objects speed or direction, and I found out how to calculate acceleration (you subtract the initial speed of a object by its final speed then divided it by the time at which the acceleration took place.) I think overall I know way more about motion than I did before learning about it.
